Cuba Libre has a lot of nooks and crannies- given it's cobbled together nature it's not suprising that there's a few unfinished bits, but there's also some very curious secrets tucked away, as well as a few exploits the curious and conniving player can find and use to their advantage.

Console Commands

You may notice a religious theme at work, that's because most of these commands date back to SodaLogic's first game "Crusaders: Holy War", the same RTS they strip mined for the Battalion AI system. Here's the most useufl ones:

Command Action
blessmefather God Mode
armorofgod Full Health and Armor
swordofgod Full ammo for all equipped weapons
replenishmyflock Respawns any KIA squad members, healths and gives ammo to living ones
blessmewith_(enter item/weapon here) Equips weapon or item.
iseektheholyland_(enter level name here) Changes level
forgivemefather Changes player's team selection
saveussinners Resets player teams reinforcement tickets to starting number
holyghost No Clip

Tricks

There's a lot of exploits and bugs in RZCL. Here's a few well known ones, and some I found myself.

    Sniper Reload Skip
  • Both the snipers are slow bolt action, but if you quickly equip another weapon it skips the animation and you can rattle off shots much faster
  • Pistol Perfect Accuracy
  • There's a bug with the bullet spread on the pistol where it doesn't grow as you shoot. Simply empty out a clip, throw it down on the ground then pick it up again. Now it will have no spread, you can headshot people across the map with a handgun
  • Havana Camping Spots
  • AI pathfinding in Havan is really bad for some reason, so they funnel through a few chokepoints every time. Try setting up by the well on point A or the cafe on point C for a perfect view of the control points. Combine w/ the sniper reload skip for high kill counts
  • Out of Bounds
  • some of the collision mapping in the later maps is pretty iffy, probably because they were rushed. If you crouch jump into corners, it's not that hard to slip out of bounds. You get to run around beneath the map, and can shoot up through it killing enemies without them noticing.

Secrets

Even in the rush to launch, SodaLogic slipped a few curious details into the game. Here's some that have been found. Let me know if you find more!

    Ghosts
  • Multiple maps have ghostly figures tucked away, floating hauntingly and vanishing if you get too close. There was an old rumor they were photos of actual casualties from the incident, but after some digging by various community members it looks like they're actually photos of the developers. They can be found on Beachhead, Trinidad, Havana Siege and El Capitolio
  • SodaLogic Cola Machines
  • SodaLogic's own brand of cola appears in many levels, so the locals can enjoy a refreshing beverage. If you try the use key on them, it'll make a sound like it dispenses a soda, but nothing actually spawns. If you get mad and want your quarter back, be careful. Any damage you impart on the machines is reflected back at you.
  • Birthday Party
  • In Trinidad, most buildings are totally closed. But if you climb the ladder on the back of the yellow building by the bay, you can get inside and find what's left of a birthday party, complete with cake.
  • Holy Hand Cannon
  • If you press a button on the bottom of Castro's desk in El Capitolio, a drawer opens with the Holy Hand Cannon. It's a 1911 with a shiny gold texture, and it'll one shot anything.
  • The Red Phone
  • Also on Castro's desk is a bright red phone. If you press the use key on it, you'll heart it ring, then some Russian dialogue as someone picks up, asks if anyone's there, and then hangs up. Did Castro really have a hotline to Moscow?
